Sporting Times All-Hoops Team for the 4th Region

First Team

Turner Buttry, Bowling Green

Isaiah Mason, Bowling Green

Dre Miller, Franklin-Simpson

Mason Shirley, Allen County-Scottsville

Cade Stinnett, Greenwood

Turner Buttry, Bowling Green Junior

Buttry was named first team all-region after helping the Purples to an eighth-straight district title and first region championship since 2017. The junior averaged 14.9 points per game and joined the rare 50-50-90 club. Buttry shot 54% from the field, 51% from 3, and 93% from the free throw line.

Isaiah Mason, Bowling Green Senior

Named the Sporting Times’ 14th District Player of the Year and a frontrunner for the 4th Region Player of the Year, Isaiah Mason was as good as advertised in his final high school season. The forward averaged 17.7 points per game to go with 7.4 rebounds. He shot a whopping 56% from the field and nearly 40% from three.

Dre Miller, Franklin-Simpson Senior

Dre Miller was named the Sporting Times’ 13th District Player of the Year after leading the 4th Region at 22.3 points per game and winning the 13th District title. The senior guard led Franklin-Simpson with 31 three-point field goals at a clip of 36.5%.

Mason Shirley, Allen County-Scottsville Senior

Mason Shirley was named the 15th District Player of the Year after averaging 18.4 points per game on 45% shooting. The senior guard also made 50 three-pointers to lead ACS. Shirley engineered a season to remember for the Patriots, as the program won its first district title since 2010 and reached the region semifinals.

Cade Stinnett, Greenwood Junior

Cade Stinnett was the region’s third-leading scorer at 20.7 points per game. The junior was highly efficient, shooting 56% from the field and got to the line 209 times where he shot 71%. Stinnett led Greenwood back to the 4th Region Tournament for the first time since 2017 and to the region finals for the first time since 2008.

Second Team

Sam Bowling, Glasgow

Jax Cooper, Allen County-Scottsville

Nick Delk, Clinton County

Peyton Dial, Metcalfe County

Ty Seay, Cumberland County

Sam Bowling, Glasgow Junior

Sam Bowling was named to the Sporting Times’ All-Hoops Team for the 15th District after leading the district at 19.9 points per game, which was fifth-best in the entire 4th Region. Bowling shot 52% from the field, 51% from the three-point line, and 80% from the free throw line as the Scotties nearly stunned Barren County in the district semifinals.

Jax Cooper, Allen County-Scottsville Senior

Jax Cooper was named to the All-Hoops Team for the 15th District after helping the Patriots to their first district title since 2010 this season. The senior averaged 14.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Cooper was fluid on offense, able to get his shot off with ease, and rebounded well, as Allen County-Scottsville re-wrote the school record books in 2021.

Nick Delk, Clinton County Junior

Although Nick Delk and the Bulldogs of Clinton County may not have had the end to their season that they had hoped for, they were still very successful on the hardwood. The junior led Todd Messer’s club with 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game., both tops on the team. Delk shot a solid mark of 59% from the field.

Peyton Dial, Metcalfe County Junior

Peyton Dial was named the 16th District Player of the Year after helping lead the Metcalfe County Hornets to their first district championship in 20 years. The junior guard averaged 14.6 points per game and was second in the 4th Region with 67 three-pointers. Dial also averaged nearly five rebounds per contest.

Ty Seay, Cumberland County Junior

Ty Seay was named to the All-Hoops Team for the 16th District after leading the 16th District in scoring this season at 20.9 points per game. His scoring average was second in the entire 4th Region. The junior guard shot 44% from the field, made 41 three-pointers, and shot 82% from the free throw line.

Third Team

Marc Grant, Greenwood

Mason Griggs, Barren County

Jaquis Todd, Russellville

Chappelle Whitney, Warren Central

Anthony Woodard, Logan County

Marc Grant, Greenwood Senior

Also named to the All-Hoops Team for the 14th District, Marc Grant led the 4th Region with 78 three-point field goals. The senior shot 36% from deep, 40% from the field, and 77% from the line. Grant was Greenwood’s second-leading scorer at 12.6 points per game as the Gators reached the region finals for the first time in 13 years.

Mason Griggs, Barren County Junior

Mason Griggs led the Trojans to their first region semifinal berth since 2016. The junior led Barren County in scoring at 15.5 points per game, shooting 53% from the field and 77% from the charity stripe. His 4.8 rebounds were also second on the team.

Jaquis Todd, Russellville Senior

Jaquis Todd led Russellville back to the 4th Region Tournament for the first time since 2017, leading the Panthers in scoring at 15.3 points per game. The senior was second in the 13th District with 34 three-pointers made and 65 free throws made.

Chappelle Whitney, Warren Central Sophomore

Chappelle Whitney is the only underclassmen listed among the 4th Region All-Hoops Team this season.  The sophomore forward led the Dragons in both scoring and rebounding at 11.7 points and 7.9 rebounds. Whitney shot over 56% from the field and 66% from the line as the Dragons were only able to play 15 total games due to COVID-cancellations.

Anthony Woodard, Logan County Senior

Anthony Woodard was the 4th Region’s fourth-leading scorer at 20.5 points per game. The senior – who was also named to the All-Hoops Team for the 13th District, led Logan County at 55.1% shooting from the field and grabbed a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game.
