The winds and rain took center stage as the Purples and Bruins met in ETown. With the established front line of Central Hardin, many expected the conditions to make it a long night for Bowling Green, but the Purples had other plans.
The Purples D made a statement early, forcing a quick three and out on the first drive. Bowling Green would take their time on offense, and on a third down play, Jamale Carothers would take it 28 yards for the score. After another quick punt, the Purples would put together a solid 80 yard drive, mixing in the run game and the arm of Clark Payne, who found Trey Fant for the six yard TD pass. Bowling Green would pick up a fumble inside the Bruin 5 yard line on the next drive, and capitalize with a Carothers TD moments later to lead 21-0 after the first. Jacob Yates would hit us with some déjà vu in the second quarter, as he took in not one, but two touchdown runs from 39 yards out. After a two point conversion, the Purples would have the running clock and a 36-0 lead at the break.
The third quarter consisted mostly of one Purples drive, taking eight and a half minutes off the clock, resulting in a Payne to Fant six yard TD pass, putting Bowling Green up 42-0. Central Hardin would get a score in the fourth, but did not convert the 2 point try, leaving your final score Bowling Green 42, Central Hardin 6.
