The Purples traveled to Elizabethtown High School Tuesday night to take on the Panthers. The Purples pressed defense dominated the Panthers’ backcourt all night, and the Purples cruised to a 61-35 victory.
Bowling Green took no time turning the game into a lopsided contest, outscoring the Panthers 23-6 in the 1st quarter. The Purples press defense forced a lot of Panther turnovers early on, which ended up with a Purple bucket on the other side. The Purples kept their momentum in the 2nd quarter, outscoring Elizabethtown 18-9 to go into the half with a 41-15 lead. Terry Taylor and Kyran Jones dominated the boards on both ends of the court.
In the 2nd half a running clock was enforced when the Purples took a 35 point lead; eventually the Purples ended beating the Panthers by a final score of 61-35
Junior forward Kyran Jones led all scorers with 16 points while Terry Taylor added 13 points.
The Purples improve to 3-0 and are back in action Friday, December 11th against Henderson County.
