The Purples were playing their best ball coming into Tuesday night’s championship game, but the Dragons were not going to give up their crown so easily. Bowling Green took the early lead, up 22-16 after the first. But Central came roaring back in the second, outscoring Bowling Green 20-7 in the period to take a seven point lead into the half. The Purples were not dismayed, and took the lead back in the third quarter 47-46. The first half of the fourth quarter was back and forth, neither team leading by more than two points. Then the Purples went on a seven point run to get some distance from the Dragons, and then it was free throws the rest of the way, with BG winning 71-64! Tucker Sine led the way with 20 points.
The Purples have a little over a week off before their first round game in the Sweet 16, a matchup with Knott County Central from the 14th Region. Catch the Purples run through Rupp Arena right here on PurplesNation.com!
