After splitting the double header with Warren Central on Friday night, Bowling Green came back home for some weekend basketball, hosting Monroe County.  Coming in to the night, all the teams were ranked in the top 5 in the 4th Region.

The ladies took to the floor first, and Monroe County jumped out to a big lead, using a 16-2 run to take an 18-8 advantage after the first quarter.  But the Lady Purples fought back in the second, outscoring Monroe County 18-8 to tie it up at the half.  The third quarter went back and forth, with a late Kayla Murray three point being the difference, putting Monroe County up 39-36.  Unfortunately, Bowling Green had no answer for the tough Lady Falcon D in the fourth quarter, and Bowling Green fell at home 45-54.
Then it was time for the guys to take to the court.  The Purples paced themselves pretty well in the first half, but both Clay Stiver and Joe Ayers picked up 2 fouls in the first quarter.  Bowling Green went to their young guys in Kyran Jones and Terry Taylor.  Jones scored 5 points in the second quarter, and BG took a 13 point lead into the half.  The Falcons fought back in the third quarter, bringing the lead down to 9 before the Purples stretched it back out in the final minutes for the 67-55 victory.
