Purples Rally Against Doss to Reach Meijer Classic Final

Bowling Green outlasted Doss 60-57 in the Meijer Holiday Classic semi-final game. The Purples trailed nearly the whole game before making the plays late to sneak out with a win. Terry Taylor led the Purples with 16 points while Stephon Franklin led the Dragons with 18.
The defending Region 6 champions punched the Purples in the mouth early, jumping out to an 11 point lead in the 2nd quarter. The Purples made a late 1st half run to tie the game at 33 before Doss scored the final 5 points of the 1st half to take a 38-33 at the half.

The Purples and Dragons traded punches in the 3rd quarter. After Doss outscored Bowling Green 11-10 in the third, the Purples defense came to life. The Purples defense forced three late steals and Deangelo Wilson scored the final 5 points of the game to outlast the Dragons by a final score of 60-57. Kyran Jones tipped a last second Doss pass and Deangelo Wilson came up with it to seal the victory. Wilson was named the player of the game. The Purples improve to 9-2 and will play Saint Xavier in the Meijer Holiday Classic Championship.
