Purples reset against Trojans win District opener

One week after suffering their first loss of the season, the Purples traveled out to Barren County to open up district play.  It would not take long to see that Bowling Green would be alright.

The Purples would force a three and out from the Trojans on the first drive, and after an 11 yard punt, BG would score on a 24 yard pass from Campbell Gott to Deangelo Wilson.  Jacob Yates would highlight the rest of the quarter, returning a punt 69 yards for a score.  He also gets a passing TD to Justin Gentry from 30 yards out.  The second quarter would be even more productive for BG, as Jamale Carothers started it off with a 23 yard run.  Gott would take over after that, finding Dane Drobocky for paydirt, and running in a score from six yards away.  After Barren County lost the handle on a kickoff return, Gott would find Carothers for one last score as time expired for the half, Purples leading 49-0. B52H4525 (571x800)

Bowling Green wasted no time to start the second half, with Trey Boards taking the opening kickoff 90 yards for a score!  It only took a couple drives from each squad to close out the game with the running clock, and Danzell White took it in from 4 yards out for the final score.  Purples win 63-0!

Bowling Green will host Logan County next Thursday before heading on Fall Break.  Catch all the action right here on PurplesNation.com!
