Purples Sweep Double Header Against Gators

Another Saturday night, another Double Header for Bowling Green.  This time, we traveled to the swamp to take on Greenwood for a big district matchup._MG_4539
The Lady Purples wasted no time to put this game away, starting with a 13 point run to open up the game.  The Lady Gators eventually found offense through Lauren Maupin, and actually outscored BG in the second quarter, but Bowling Green led at the half 36-26.  Oneisha Turner dominated the third quarter as the Lady Purples began to pull away, and Makayla Gray closed out the fourth as BG ran away with this one 85-54.  Oneisha Turner was the player of the game with 26 points.  Makayla Gray had 25._MG_4634
The Purples were looking to echo what the Lady Purples were able to accomplish, and lead 21-9 after Nacarius Fant knocked down a 3 to end the first quarter.  But the Gators fought back, putting together 2 runs of 7 in the second quarter to bring it to a three point game at the half 31-28.  The Purples were able to stay ahead of the Gators in the third quarter, before a big push in the fourth led by Fant, Joe Ayers and Clay Stivers gave the Purples a big win 72-56.  Nacarius Fant was our player of the game with 20 points.
Busy week for Bowling Green next week, as BG kicks it off hosting Logan County at home Monday night.   Catch it here on PurplesNation.com!
