Purples take the field for the last time as teammates

_MG_3572On Sunday, several former Bowling Green Purples took the field for the last time as teammates. Devin Hayes, Nacarius Fant, Lincoln Quick, Jake Mills, and Will Jenkins all participated in the Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Game in Louisville this Sunday. Just like their time at BGHS, the Purples dominated on the field.

With five players taking the field, BGHS was well represented. The main attraction in the game was the dynamic duo of Hayes and Fant. Hayes threw 43 touchdowns in 2013, 20 of those scores were to Fant. In their careers, Hayes looked to Fant multiple times in clutch situations. Against St. Xavier and Blackman, Fant caught game-winning touchdowns from Hayes. The duo continued their tradition of scoring late touchdowns on Sunday. Down 21-14 late, Hayes found Fant for a late touchdown. After the touchdown, the Kentucky All-Stars converted on a two point conversion to put them up 22-21. Despite the late drive, the Louisville All-Stars managed a game-winning field goal to win 24-22.

Hayes and Fant were protected on the line by Jenkins and Mills, both standout offensive lineman with collegiate offers. On the defensive end, Bowling Green was represented by Quick.
