Purples wrap up regular season District Title

For the fourth straight year, the Bowling Green Purples won the 14th District regular season title. BGHS clinched the title after a 6-0 win over South Warren on October 2nd. The Purples shutout win over the Spartans was a testament to the true dominance that BGHS has had in district play this season.

BGHS has shown out this year against district opponents. The Purples are yet to lose against a district opponent, as their only loss came against Trinity. BGHS has played well against the second and third best teams in the district, South Warren and Greenwood. In their two games against Greenwood, BGHS has outscored the Gators 4-1. Even more impressive than their two wins against Greenwood, the Purples have beaten South Warren 2-0 and 6-0 in the two games in which the teams matched up. The four wins against Warren East and Warren Central have formed an 8-0 record against district opponents for Bowling Green.

The success this year has been nothing new for the Purples, as BGHS won both the district tournament and the regional tournament last season. The Purples are looking for similar results in 2013. With the type of regular season they had, look for BGHS to make a run for the two tournament titles yet again in 2013.
