For Warren East, the 2013 season has not begun as planned. Losing two of their first three games, the Raiders have had few bright spots in this young season. One of those bright spots has been junior linebacker Eli Brown. During the 2012 season, Brown emerged as a star at both linebacker and running back, but the position of linebacker is where Brown is getting the most attention. Rivals.com added Brown to the 2015 Rivals250 to Watch list as a four-star recruit. Brown, a Vanderbilt commit, is the only player from the state of Kentucky to be added to the prestigious list.
After an outstanding season in 2012, Brown has followed it up with some startling stats in 2013. In perhaps his best game of the 2013 season, Brown ran for 190 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries against Barren County. But Brown’s defensive talents are why he has been offered a handful of Division-One offers. Brown finished with 95 tackles in 2012, to go along with 11 sacks. Those stats earned Brown offers from Ohio State, Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Vanderbilt.
The addition to Rivals’ Watch List is a deserving accomplishment for Brown. The future Commodore still has nearly two seasons to develop and rise up the recruiting lists. Look for Brown to be ranked as one of the top linebackers in the nation after this season.
