Raiders Continue To Improve, Greer Passes for 403

The Raiders faced a tough Glasgow team on the road Friday night and gave the fans attending a good game. Warren East fell 34-28 in a battle, showing the Blue and Gold are continuing to get better every single week.

The Raiders (1-4) started out the scoring on their opening possession, a 9-yard TD run by Trevor Naftel giving Warren East its only lead of the night. After that, 28 unanswered points by the Scotties (4-0), in the form of a 59-yard TD run by Selverio Greer, a 45-yard pitch-and-catch from QB Dessi Austin to Griffin Murphy, an opening 2nd half kickoff return for 89-yards by Griffin, and a 11-yard TD run by Greer.

The Raiders found themselves in a hole, but they didn’t give up. Senior QB Chauncey Greer found Caleb Huskey for a 56-yard TD to cut the deficit to 28-14. The Scotties answered with a 8-yard TD pass from Austin to Ben Hughes but again Warren East finished strong.

Raiders scored back-to-back TDs, the first a 4-yard TD run by Greer and the other a 52-yard Hail Mary from Greer to Patrick Satterfield with about 2 minutes left. After a failed onside kick, Glasgow was able to hold on and remain undefeated. Chauncey Greer’s 403 passing yards was not enough to elevate Warren East to a victory.

The Raiders advance to 1-4 on the season and will next play at Barren County on 9/23.
