ROUND 2

With both schools still jockeying for position in the district rankings, Bowling Green and Warren Central squared off for round 2.  Friday night’s action will be the last time these squads will see each other before postseason play.

The ladies took the floor first, and Bowling Green wasted no time putting some distance between them and Warren Central.  Oneisha Turner had 14 points in the first quarter, and the Lady Purples were up 22-9 after one.  The three pointer came into play in the second quarter, Bowling Green built up a 45-24 lead at the half.  They were able to carry that momentum throughout the second half to get the 73-52 victory.

Then after a new Homecoming Queen was crowned, the fellas took to the floor.  Bowling Green had their eyes on an upset, as they had only lost by 3 the last time met two weeks ago.  The Purple came out strong to take an early lead, but Central used a 9 point run in the second quarter to take a four point lead into the locker room, 23-19 at the half.
Blue Tisdale made a three to start the third quarter and bring it within one, but the Dragons answered with a 12 point run to keep BG at bay.  Bowling Green made a valiant effort in the fourth to come back, but the Dragons made their free throws down the stretch to win 52-44.
