         Week 6

       School                                Record          Last Week

  1. Bowling Green                        17-3                             1

Outlook: Bowling Green strengthened its hold on the #1 ranking, beating Franklin-Simpson, Daviess County, and then-#2 South Warren. Eli Burwash was dominant at the plate and on the mound against the Spartans, going 3-for-4 with two home runs and 3 RBI with his bat and pitching a complete game two-hitter with 8 Ks on the mound. The Purples remaining Week 6 games include home games with South (Wednesday), Barren County (Thursday), and Male (Saturday).

2. Russell County                        14-3                             3

Outlook: Russell County failed to get on the field since our last rankings update with rain knocking out many games this week across the 4th Region. The Lakers are scheduled to travel to Clinton County and South Warren before hosting Boyle County on Saturday.

3. South Warren                         13-5                             2

Outlook: South Warren had its ten-game win streak snapped to Central Hardin on Friday in the South Warren Lumberjack Classic. The Spartans rallied to beat the Bears, 12-2, on Saturday, and beat Christian County, 10-3, to finish 2-1 in the event. In the victory over Central Hardin, South had seven different players hit a double as they cruised over the Bears.

4. Barren County                        12-5                             7

Outlook: Barren County makes the biggest jump in the power rankings after coming in at #7 last week. The Trojans have won six out of seven games, most recently a 3-2 win over #5 Greenwood. In a pitcher’s duel, Blake Cook pitched all seven innings, allowing only two hits and one earned run. Brayden Emmitt scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a wild pitch to give the Trojans the victory.

5. Greenwood                              14-9                             6

Outlook: Greenwood won four of five games since our last rankings update, including three in a row. In a 4-0 win over Franklin-Simpson, Matthew Brown pitched a complete game shutout allowing only two hits, striking out seven. Greenwood travels to Russellville on Thursday before a home-and-home with Bowling Green kicks off on Monday.

6. Warren East                            13-7                             5

Outlook: Warren East rebounded from a three-game losing streak to beat Metcalfe County (10-0) and Madisonville-North Hopkins (9-3). Braylen Lee helped the Raiders defeat the Maroons, going 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and a double. East travels to Logan County on Thursday before playing three games in the Fayette County Invitational Tournament in Lexington this weekend.

7. Glasgow                                   9-8                               8

Outlook: Glasgow inches up to #7 after defeating Franklin-Simpson, 7-5, on Saturday. Cole Stephens and Tyler Lane each hit two doubles and drove in two runs apiece to lead the Scotties to victory. Glasgow is scheduled to travel to Cumberland County on Thursday before hosting Elizabethtown on Saturday.

8. Franklin-Simpson                  8-8                               4

Outlook: Franklin-Simpson went 0-3 in its three games against #1 Bowling Green, #5 Greenwood, and #7 Glasgow. However, the Wildcats will have a quick turnaround with games schedule for Wednesday (@ Russellville), Thursday (Allen County-Scottsville), Friday (Henderson County), and Saturday (@ Hopkinsville). It would surprise no one if Franklin won all four of those games as they already have put together a win streak of six this season.

9. Logan County                         9-8                               10

Outlook: Logan County’s bats have been scalding hot this week, scoring 12 runs in a win over #7 Glasgow and 10 in a win over Calloway County. Macon Barrow went 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI in the win over Calloway. The Cougars travel to Todd County Central on Wednesday for a big district game, before hosting Warren East on Thursday and traveling to Hopkinsville on Friday.

10. Clinton County                   9-9                               9

Outlook: Clinton County beat Cumberland County but lost to Metcalfe County and sits at 2-3 in the district standings. The Bulldogs will have the chance at a major resume win on Wednesday when they host #2 Russell County. Clinton will then host Clay County (TN) on Thursday and Adair County on Friday.

Next Team Up: Todd County Central
