It came down to the non-starters as foul totals were outlandishly high…only outdone by the intensity inside the gym at South Warren High School.

A 24-17 game at the half, South Warren would fall further behind before finding their way back, at one point down ten. All tied up at the end of regulation, just like a rivalry game like this should end, it would take the extra four minutes to decide it.

With both Zach McDaniel and Brad Logsdon out of the game due to fouls, matching a pair of Gators who had to sit out the extra frame, it was Brandon Stacker, Bryan Cummings, Dayton Gumm, Austin Bybee, and Corbin Cowles. Bybee made huge plays and finished with a game high 14.

Corbin Cowles had one…a free throw, but he played inspired off-ball defense, caused trouble, opened passing lanes, and as a result was named Total Fitness Connection “We Got This” Player of the Game.

In the end, at 60-58, a baseball inbounds pass was taken away by Greenwood freshman Colin Jackson, who heaved it with no time left from 42 feet…missing the mark. The Spartans move to 5-2 in a thriller down south.
