Spartans Advance Raiders Season ends at 15-10

_MG_336414-11 after one and 24-20 at the half. South Warren led the first half of the ballgame wire to wire, paced by Zach McDaniel’s eleven points, which led all scorers. In contrast to the two regular season matchups between the two district foes, South Warren did not struggle offensively early. Gumm made the first bucket off the tip, then Bybee and McDaniel stepped up and made threes to take an 8-0 lead and force an early Casey Simpson timeout. From that point on, it was basically a stalemate, leaving everyone in the building to conclude that the old adage of “anyone’s ballgame” was an adage for the reason it was true.
Second half…more of the same. Had it not been for free throw woes for South Warren, they might have won this one by 15, but they’ll happily settle for a 65-56 wire to wire win against a good Warren East team. Austin Bybee and McDaniel combined for 37 points and Bybee was named TFC and GoSpartanNation Player of the Game.  It was the first District Tournament win in school history and Coach Derrick Clubb, proud of his team, said tonight they will celebrate…tomorrow they’ll prepare for the Dragons.
Zach McDaniel – 19
Austin Bybee – 18
Jaylin Barnett – 20
Brandon Walker – 13
