Spartans Continue Their Quest. Move to 4-0

The South Warren Spartans improved to 4-0 under first year Head Coach Brandon Smith with an impressive 38-7 victory in Elizabethtown handing the Panthers their first loss of the season..

The Spartans fell down 7-0 early on a 62 yard touchdown run by Elizabethtown running back Bernil Cecil, but it was all Spartans after that point.

A 90 second sequence at the end of the first half was key for South Warren. After a botched punt snap by Elizabethtown gave South Warren the football first and ten at the Panthers 19 yard line, Ryder Litten took a quarterback keeper in from 4 yards out on 4th and 3 to make the score 17-7.

On the next Elizabethtown possession, quarterback Hunter Sullivan was picked off by Dmitri Bibb, who returned the interception all the way to the Panther 2 yard line. On the next play, with just 4 seconds left in the half, Austin McElwain took it in for a touchdown to make it 24-7 at the half.IMG_1010 (800x533) (357x534)
