The Spartans took the floor at home for the last time this season against the Logan County Cougars and for most of the first half it was a close one. The Spartans were lead by Zach McDaniel who had double digit scoring and most of those points came in the paint. Not a good shooting night from the perimeter as South only hit one three in the first half. Ben Wright was the focus of most of the offense for Logan and he paced them with 10 in the first half. The teams shot 35 free throws between them in the half which slowed any kind of rhytm.
The second half was sluggish but was controlled mostly by South as Dayton Gumm caught fire and score 12. McDaniel added 7 to his first half total and the Spartans opened up a 14 point advantage in the 4th quarter. That was all it took and South coasted the rest of the way. That is 3 straight victories for South as they head to Daviess County on Thursday.
