The Mustangs traveled down to Warren East for the Christmas Tournament at 2-3 after some tough losses against good basketball teams and played well, leading much of the game against the Spartans. Junior Guard Jon-Jon Henry led North Oldham with 18 and was difficult to deal with all afternoon long.
After a 30-30 tie at halftime, South Warren, who started slowly, began to score at a higher clip. In the first half, Brad Logsdon on putbacks and shots off the glass was the key. In the second, it became a team effort. It would be Zach McDaniel who would be named Total Fitness Connection Player of the Game. The senior led the way with 19 for the Spartans, who won the game 63-61 and advanced to play McCracken County in the Winner’s Bracket.
