Winner announced in Sporting Times Quarterly Magazine for South-Central & Mid-Central Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.
Details:
Students in high school, grades 9-12, compete to win a $1,000 scholarship towards higher education and Sporting Times gear. Students submit articles to the Sporting Times. The articles are reviewed and published online for all Sporting Times readers to see. Sporting Times will share your article on Facebook to engage readers and raise awareness of your article. Here’s where it gets interesting. Sporting Times team will be tracking the article “reach” on Facebook. The more people you get to engage with your story the higher the reach. The scholarship is awarded based on total reach of your article submissions between October 15, 2015 and May 15, 2016. The student with the most people reached will win the scholarship. Submit multiple articles and increase your chances of winning.
Prerequisites:
- Students must be currently attending one of the eligible high schools from the list below
- Provide your name and school with every article submission
- Provide at least one (1) quality photo with every article submission (Video optional)
- Each article submission must be a minimum 800 words
- Submit stories via Word or Pages document
Article Suggestions:
We feature student-athletes past and present, coaches, players, fans and all things sports. Articles must pertain to any of the elgible schools. We are looking for stories that relate to the following: Inspirational, Overcoming Challanges, Impressive Records, Interesting Facts, Team Spirit, Commitment, Where Are They Now – These are just few examples of what we are looking for.
