         Outlook: The Purples cruised to an undefeated start by an average win margin of 30 points per game. Isaiah Mason has picked up where he left off last season, averaging 19 points and 10 rebounds. BG does not return to action until January 26 in a home tilt with Greenwood, as it has three games canceled due to COVID-19 this week.

2. Clinton County                       6-0                               3

         Outlook: The Bulldogs jump up one spot to second after a perfect run through the 4th Region All “A” Classic. Nick Delk is averaging 16.2 points per game, while Chase Stines is averaging 11.8 points and 9 free throw attempts per contest. Clinton County now returns home for seven-straight games in Albany, starting with Campbellsville tonight. Friday will be an exciting matchup with Allen County-Scottsville.

3. Warren Central                      1-1                               4

         Outlook: The Dragons have only played twice after having three games canceled per COVID-19 policy. Central put five players in double figure in an overtime win at University Heights, led by Damarion Walkup and Jace Carver who each scored 17. A big week awaits the Dragons with home games against both Allen County-Scottsville and Greenwood.

4. Franklin-Simpson                   2-1                               7      

         Outlook: The Wildcats vaulted to #3 in our power rankings after beating Greenwood and Logan County. Andreyous Miller is averaging 22.3 points per game to lead the way, scoring 19 in each of the team’s first three games. Franklin hosts Russellville on Friday night in its first district game of the season.

5. Greenwood                              3-3                               5      

         Outlook: The Gators held serve at #5 after a blowout win over district rival South Warren on Friday, 79-46. Greenwood has played a tough schedule in the early going with games against Bowling Green, Allen County-Scottsville, Franklin-Simpson, and Trinity. Led by Cade Stinnett’s 14.2 points per game, the Gators play Warren East and Warren Central this week to continue district play.

6. Allen County-Scottsville        4-1                               8      

         Outlook: A triple-overtime thriller with Greenwood is the only thing separating the Patriots from a 5-0 record. A win over Barren County propelled Coach Brad Bonds’ club to 3-0 in district play. Mason Shirley scored 22 in the victory. AC-S faces big tests this week with road games at Warren Central and Clinton County.

7. Barren County                        3-3                               2      

         Outlook: The Trojans won three games in a row before dropping a road game at Allen County-Scottsville. Aden Nyekan is averaging 18 points and 5.8 rebounds on the season. Barren County hosts Hart County and Logan County before traveling to Tompkinsville for a district matchup with Monroe County.

8. South Warren                         1-1                               6

         Outlook: South Warren finally kicked off its season on Friday night with a game against Greenwood. The Spartans lost the opener, but they went to Apollo on Saturday and won by 13. Coach Jason Holland’s crew heads to Warren East on Friday before a Saturday tilt with Monroe County in Tompkinsville.

9. Metcalfe County                     4-2                               —

         Outlook: Metcalfe County propelled into the rankings after reaching the 4th Region All “A” Classic finals and nearly upending Clinton County. Four players are averaging double figures in scoring, led by Peyton Dial at 15 points per game. The Hornets travel to Edmonson County on Tuesday before hosting Foundation Christian Academy on Friday evening.

10. Russellville                             2-2                               9

         Outlook: Russellville started off its district season with a win over Todd County Central on Friday night. Jaquis Todd is averaging 14.5 points per game, while Josh Allen is averaging 11.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest. A home meeting with Caldwell County on Tuesday will be followed by a road game at Franklin-Simpson.
