- Bowling Green 5-3
Outlook: The Purples are 5-3 through the first two weeks of the season. Nathan Isenberg’s club was ranked #8 in Prep Baseball Report’s preseason rankings for the state of Kentucky.
2. Glasgow 3-2
Outlook: Glasgow won its first three games of the season before dropping its last two. Region wins over top ten foes Barren County, Todd County Central, and Clinton County have given the Scotties some experience against some of the best 4th Region competition to date.
3. Russell County 3-3
Outlook: Russell County reached the region semifinals in 2019 and hope to make another deep run this summer. In the Lakers’ three wins, they have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 35-0.
4. South Warren 3-3
Outlook: The defending region champions certainly look different than they did in 2019; however, the Spartans hope to find similar success on the diamond this spring. They will play Greenwood in a home-and-home this week on Monday and Tuesday before traveling to Metcalfe County on Thursday evening.
5. Greenwood 5-4
Outlook: Greenwood started the 2021 campaign at 2-3 but have since rallied to win three of four, including two victories over Edmonson County and Adair County by a combined score of 25-0.
6. Franklin-Simpson 2-5
Outlook: Franklin has struggled to a 2-5 start but is still expected to be a tough out for any opposing foe on the diamond this season. Matt Wilhite’s team has lost four in a row after starting the season 2-1.
7. Warren East 4-3
Outlook: Warren East hopes to contend in the ever-tough 14th District and qualify for the 4th Region Tournament for the first time since 2017. In the Raiders’ four wins, they have outscored opponents by a combined score of 52-7.
8. Todd County Central 6-2
Outlook: The Rebels have looked great in their first eight games, putting together two three-game win streaks. Their only two losses are to talented Glasgow and Marshall County clubs.
9. Barren County 4-1
Outlook: Barren County has played solid baseball through the opening two weeks of the season, posting a 4-1 record. The Trojans are averaging 12 runs in their four victories and are looking to contend with Glasgow in the 15th District.
10. Clinton County 4-4
Outlook: Clinton County will represent the 4th Region in the All A State Tournament after winning the region event over Glasgow and Metcalfe County. The Bulldogs will host Cumberland County, Monroe County, and Pickett County from Tennessee in Week 3.
