State Wrestling: Parrott wins state ends perfect season

IMG_7666Perfection isn’t easily achieved, but North Hardin’s Darrius Parrott saw to it. After winning Region in his weight class and then capped off a perfect senior season by beating Wayne County senior Devin Morrow in the 195-pound in the finals of the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament at Lexington’s Alltech Arena. Parrott’s 39th victory came against another undefeated wrestler as Morrow finished 50-1 after the 5-1 loss. It helped cap off a great day for area wrestlers as seven had good finishes even though only two (Parrott and Cameron Mattingly from John Hardin) were finalists. Mattingly had his season ended in the finals against another undefeated wrestler Campbell County’s Austin Myers.
