Abby Varney, Barren County

Aida Akhmedova, Warren Central

Akhmedova featured in all sixteen of Warren Central’s games this season, providing reliable ballhandling for the Lady Dragons. The freshman averaged 4.9 points per game, fourth on the team. She scored a team-high 21 points in a 67-62 loss to South Warren in late January.

Janiya Bailey, Bowling Green

Janiya Bailey featured in 14 games for the region champion Lady Purples this season. She provided consistent play from the guard spot, especially on defense. Bailey played in all seven postseason games for Bowling Green, chipping in 11 points in the district title game.

Lareesha Cawthorne, Russellville

Lareesha Cawthorne, an eighth grader, averaged 8.3 points per game for the Lady Panthers this season. The forward/guard was third on the team in scoring, behind only All-District performers Anastasia Dowlen and Amiyah Collier. Cawthorne shot 49% from the field and 39% from three.

Khloe Hale, Glasgow

Appearing in all 23 games this season, Khloe Hale was Glasgow’s third-leading scorer at 8.2 points per game. The freshman forward averaged 6.8 rebounds per game, which was ranked third in the 15th District.

Kassady London, Metcalfe County

Appearing in all 23 games for the Lady Hornets, Kassady London put together one of the best freshman seasons of the year. She averaged 13.0 points per game and shot 51% from the field, 46% from beyond the arc, and 74% from the line as Metcalfe County won the 16th District title.

Landree Moons, Clinton County

Landree Moons featured in all 20 of Clinton County’s games this season, averaging 12.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the Lady Bulldogs. The freshman shot 74% from the line as well. Moons scored a team-high 13 points in the district tournament against Metcalfe County.

Katie Murphy, Barren County

Barren County’s third-leading scorer at 6.8 points per game, Katie Murphy played a prominent role for the Trojanettes in 2021. Able to score from anywhere on the court and defend at a high level, the freshman shot 41% from the field and was second on Barren with 4.0 rebounds per game.

Jayleigh Steenbergen, Allen County-Scottsville

Playing in 19 games for Allen County-Scottsville this season, Jayleigh Steenbergen was the Lady Patriots’ second-leading scorer at 8.2 points per game. She led the team at 35% shooting from the field and was the 15th District’s second-leading rebounder at 7.5 per contest.

Aysha Sutton, Clinton County

Aysha Sutton was the Lady Bulldogs’ third-leading scorer and rebounder behind All-District performers Braylee Mann and Landree Moons. The freshman averaged 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game and was named to the 4th Region All-A Classic All-Tournament Team this season.

Alexis Taylor, Todd County Central

Featuring in all 20 games for the Lady Rebels, Alexis Taylor averaged 10.8 points and 7.7 rebounds in 2021. The eighth-grade power forward scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in an overtime win over eventual district champion Franklin-Simpson.

Leia Trinh, Greenwood Freshman

Leia Trinh had an outstanding freshman season, helping the Lady Gators reach the 4th Region semifinals. She led all 4th Region freshmen at 17.1 points per game and splashed 38 three-pointers. Trinh’s season high for points came in a win over South Warren when she scored 29 points.

Abby Varney, Barren County

Abby Varney played in all 28 of Barren County’s games in 2021, averaging 7.4 points per game on 38% shooting. The freshman led the Trojanettes in both scoring and rebounding against Bowling Green in the region championship, tallying 13 points and six rebounds.
