Tim Riley takes his game to Tennessee

Riley2After a 3 year departure from coaching high school basketball, former Warren Central Dragons head coach will be back in action accepting the head coaching position at Springfield High School in Tennessee.

Anyone in the coaching ranks in Kentucky knows the resume Tim Riley brings with him wherever he goes. Some call it a dynasty during his 14 seasons at Warren Central winning (8) 4th Region titles and only losing 3 out of 30 games over the years he participated in the Region 4 tournament. Riley also nailed down a Kentucky State boys basketball championship in 2004 and followed it up in 2005 returning to the State finals losing to South Laurel. Riley’s overall record in 14 seasons was an impressive 307-128.

Over the past two years, Riley was an Assistant Coach to Mary Taylor Cowles on Western Kentucky women’s basketball team. After Coach Cowles had been replaced, Riley was a sales consultant for Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac.

Riley’s new team the Springfield Yellow Jackets finished last season 4-20 and will challenge Coach Riley from the start rebuilding their program, but if anyone can do it, Tim Riley is your man.
