Max Chaney was named the new Franklin-Simpson head football coach on Friday, March 13, 2020. He follows Doug Preston who stepped down as Franklin-Simpson head coach in February to take the job as head football coach at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, Ky.
About Max Chaney:
- Offensive lineman on the Franklin-Simpson football team (1994 &1995)
- Offensive lineman at Campbellsville University (1996 -2000)
- Became assistant offensive line coach to Joey Kilburn (2006)
- Became offensive line coach & strength and conditioning coach (2008)
- Became offensive coordinator (2013)
Coaches & community have shown their support to Chaney’s ascension into the Head Coach role. Many coaches believe Franklin-Simpson to be a great sports school and sports community to be a part of.
“There’s definitely more pressure moving into the Head Coach position,” Chaney Says. “But It’s a good pressure.”
There’s a good group of guys around me as far as Josh Satterly, Matt Marsh, Robert McDougal, Josh Profit who are currently on staff. Josh Satterly and Matt Marsh, they both played here as well and Satterly and I played together. McDougal has been with Franklin-Simpson since 2006 at both the middle school and high school level. They keep me well Grounded!

Coach Max Chaney played college football at Campbellsville University 1996-2000. Coach John Chaney played college ball at Jacksonville State University in Alabama 1971-1975. Max Bennett will be attending Campbellsville University to play football this coming fall of 2012.
