Dragons win 5th straight at home

By Jason Martin:

The Dragons looked for their fifth victory in a row at home on Saturday night against a good 12-4 Barren County team rising up the rankings in numerous polls. Warren Central had their best week of the season at the right time as the defense and the stifling full-court pressure and trap came first, the shooting finally came as well.

Jared Savage and Barren County’s Wade Coomer went shot for shot throughout the contest, 20-19 was their respective score at the half as Warren Central led the Trojans 33-27 at halftime. It looked like a close second half was in the offing but the Dragons would open up with eight straight points and Barren County wouldn’t score until four minutes had passed in the third quarter. That cushion enabled the defense and Jared Savage never let up. He would finish with 32, his second 30 point game of the season, including seven from beyond the arc. Wade Coomer, in the loss, had 30 for Barren County. The Dragons would prevail 76-57.

Glasgow is up next for Warren Central, then a five game district stretch that should be incredibly exciting. We’ll have every single dribble for you live and crystal clear on the Sporting Times Broadcast Network at GoDragonNation.com.
