East beats Central Hardin, will meet Male in state final

LEXINGTON – For the second straight season, Warren East will play for a state championship.

The No. 2 ranked Lady Raiders – who last season made a run to the state final in Owensboro – have again punched a ticket to the title match after defeating Central Hardin 4-1 on Saturday in the 2019 KHSAA Fast Pitch Softball State Tournament semifinals at the University of Kentucky’s John Cropp Stadium.

With Warren East’s win, it’ll now face undefeated Male (38-0) – the state’s top-ranked team and the No. 3 ranked squad in the country by USAToday – for the state crown at 5 p.m. (CT).

Warren East (36-2) will be trying to capture a state softball championship for the first time in program history.
