Big Blue Opens with Raiders Win

Jim Ross Field and the new blue turf was the site for the Raiders’ 9th game of the season Friday. Warren East dominated Warren Central 49-0 in an important Class 4A match up that will send the Raiders to the playoffs in 3 weeks time.

It was a scoreless first quarter for both teams before the Raiders (3-6) (1-2) took flight. Senior QB Chauncey Greer, former Dragons player, scored 2 of his 4 total TDs in the 2nd quarter. A 9-yard TD run and a 21-yard strike to Caleb Huskey put the Blue and Gold up 14-0 and right after, a 9-yard TD run by Trevor Naftel sealed the halftime score of 21-0.

On the night, Warren East recovered 3 onside kicks, which helped them get to a running clock. In the second half, Greer scored 2 more rushing touchdowns and allowed some of this teammates to get in on the scoring fun. Patrick Satterfrield and Thomas Maxey both scored TDs on the ground as the Raiders coasted to another victory.

Warren East advances to 3-6 on the season and will next play Franklin Simpson at home on October 21st. The Dragons advance to 0-8 and will play Greenwood next Friday
